November 11, 2022 A visit with a Hasidic family for Sukkos
I had a wonderful experience visiting the Friedlander family in Boro Park. They invited me into their sukkah for dinner/chol hamoed meal. This was a very plain sukkah – what Gabby calls a “backup sukkah,” or a communal sukkah, that belonged to their little sect’s synagogue. The family’s private sukkahs were six flights up, so we visited here. The most lovely part of the experience was, as always, the people themselves! The Friedlanders were lovely and both Beka and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. This clip is a short snippet of a long visit, but it’ll give you a taste of the experience.
