September 19, 2023 Update on this blog
Hello,
This blog has been a labor of love. I have a large collection of posts that I spent hours researching, writing, and sharing, often receiving fewer than a handful of views per post.
I have many more posts in my drafts, half done but still waiting to be finished one day!
Nowadays, however, I have thankfully had my hands full, and I’ve been unable to keep up with this blog. My “Hasidic Research” efforts are entirely directed toward my YouTube channel, which has been a wonderful, miraculous, and so meaningful project, as it has gained much more traction than this blog.
I used to post here every time I published a new, larger video, but after a bit of a technical debacle in which the new post notification form disappeared, I stopped posting here. I don’t think I’ll be putting up any posts in the near future, so if you’d like to follow my work, I encourage you to follow me on Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, etc. Youtube now has a community tab, and I sometimes do little posts there.
I hope to continue creating videos, building on the enormous collection of research I’ve amassed over the years to tell the story of a very unique subsect of Jewish life. Thanks to everyone who is with me on this journey, shares their knowledge and feedback, and has been with me on a tour or two.
Warm regards,
Frieda

Posted at 11:52h, 21 SeptemberSorry to hear that. You have a wonderful writing style, and your prose offers a level of detail into your inner world that video can’t match, but very understandable to concentrate your efforts where your reach is strongest. Thanks, then, for your years of writing one of the coolest and most interesting blogs on the internet.

Posted at 15:22h, 21 SeptemberI’m surprised this post even got a comment. Thank you very much for it. I much prefer doing posts and enjoyed this blog immensely, immensely. I have so many half finished projects and it hurts that I have to let them sit there.

I hope you revisit writing eventually – perhaps in the form of a full-length memoir. I found your blog posts through your videos, and find the blog posts much much more personal, as well as much more daring content in general. I get the point of the videos is different – to demystify the Hasidic world for outsiders, but one day I want more of your personal journey, more of your thoughts and opinions, and more frank discourse about the good, the bad, and the ugly of the community you grew up in.

Posted at 14:07h, 22 NovemberThank you for this comment and for reading my blog!! I’m very partial to this blog because this blog is ME; I put myself into it without reservations. On Youtube I try to document the culture without leaning too much on my ex-hasidic perspective – for various reasons – but I much prefer this blog which has been a friend to me for much of my life’s journey.
