Under the rug? Where is that?!?!

Hasidic Ultra-Orthodox Jews sweep the dirt, child abuse and molestation and other ills, under the rug

Under the Rug

Frieda Vizel

Frieda Vizel left the Hasidic community, the Modern Orthodox community and the Formerly Orthodox (OTD) community. She now lives in Pomona and is actively looking for a new community to leave. She deals with the perplexities of the communities she left by drawing cartoons about them, a habit that gets her into an excellent amount of trouble.

  2. funny I am in it and I do not really see it whats under the rug in my community is nothing compared to whats on top of the rug in other communities and I cant imagine whats under the rug in the sec ular world

  3. still with a shpitzel :

I cant imagine whats under the rug in the sec ular world

Indeed you can’t. Why don’t you bother to find out? The “secular world” is a big place comprising many, many different communities. Take the time to have a look-see: you might be surprised, learn something, like it, perhaps even decide that a culture of secrecy and protecting abusers is not the best example to set. Who knows?

  4. I wish I could “like” comments here like we can do on Facebook because I like your response to “still with a shpitzl!”
