March 20, 2022 Building series: A new interactive map-tour of Brooklyn’s Bais Yaakov history
I have written about Naomi Seidman and Bais Yaakov in previous posts. (See my interview with Naomi here and this post on Williamsburg architecture.) Naomi commissioned me to create an interactive virtual tour of the birth of Bais Yaakov in America. This short post by Naomi explains the difficulties of researching this history, which, as she notes in the post, lacks a central office or archive and relies heavily on interviews and word of mouth.
That’s where this interactive map comes in. This “tour” leads visitors through photos and locations of important buildings and moments in the history of Bais Yaakov in order to better piece together the story. My hope is that this map will help bring this past to life. You can explore it here.
